Orchards at
Bartley celebrates their Third Annual Halloween Party with Jackson High
School Future Business Leaders of America
On Friday October 29, 2004 the students from
Jackson High School, Future Business Leaders of America, shared their time
at our 3rd annual Halloween Party with the residents at The Orchards at
Bartley Assisted Living.
“Since the Orchards has opened, our bond with these students and other
students from Jackson High School has only flourished. Not only do they
biannually hold socials with us, but students from different clubs in the
high School share of their time doing volunteer work”, said Heidi Steinert,
Program Director.
The night of the Halloween party the students coordinated the entire
evening. They started by arriving early and blowing up balloons and
decorating our Main Dining room with streamers, balloons and theme
decorations. All of the students came in costumes and our residents also
arrive in costumes either made by them or brought in by their family
members.
Throughout the evening the students served our residents hor’duerves and
drinks and then lead them out on the dance floor to have some fun. The
residents participated in trivia and best costume contests and at the end
of the night most residents walked away with a prize.
This intergenerational program has many wonderful benefits for both the
students and residents. Our residents will look forward to meeting up with
Jackson High School FBLA at our 4th annual Spring Fling in May.
