Community Enjoyed Bartley Healthcare’s 5th Annual Family Fun Day
(October 12, 2005, Jackson, NJ) As it begins
it 20th Anniversary Bartley Healthcare hosted its 5th Annual Family Fun
Day on a beautiful blue sky warm Fall day and welcomed community children,
parents and grandparents to enjoy rides, food and games, pony rides,
petting zoo and musical entertainment. Family Fun Day is both Bartley’s
expression of gratitude to the community for its role in the success that
Bartley has enjoyed and one of Bartley’s ways to give back to those in the
community.
Residents and families from both The Orchards at Bartley Assisted Living
and Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation mingled among the
community. With a live Dixie Land Band as back ground, residents enjoyed
watching children playing on a variety of rides, coloring pumpkins, eating
cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn, creating sand art, riding a pony or
shaking hands with a costume character.
“ We are proud of the fact that Bartley’s Family Fun Day has become a
widely anticipated annual event. We estimate that the Bartley Campus
hosted 1,000 guests at this year’s event”, said Trish Mazejy, Vice
President of Business Development.” In celebration of Bartley Healthcare’s
20th anniversary, live music and additional attractions and food choices
were added with the help of local service and civic organizations to make
this year’s Family Fun Day extra special. The Jackson High School Honors
Art students volunteered their time and managed a face painting station.
“It seemed like every child had its face painted. I saw faces resembling
Spiderman, crown jeweled princesses, pirates, kittens and butterflies”
noted Ms Mazejy. The Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company No.1,
Jackson/Howell Knights of Columbus, Jackson Kiwanis and The Jackson Boy
Scout Pack 401 Screaming Eagle Patrol supported the event by selling a
variety of food concessions. Each group donated their proceeds to the
charity of their choice.
At this year’s Family Fun Day, Bartley Healthcare again welcomed food and
cash donations for the Jackson Food Pantry, which is managed by The
Jackson Women of Today. This year’s event raised over $540 in monetary
donations. Bartley’s has matched the contributions and presented the
Jackson Food Pantry with a check for $1,200. In addition to cash
donations, Bartley encouraged the community to bring a bag of
non-perishable food items. Vickie Vitale, Director of the Food Pantry for
The Jackson Women of Today thanked Bartley for its support of several
years and added, "We are truly grateful to Bartley Healthcare for
continuing to offer this wonderful event in support of The Jackson Food
Pantry. As we begin nearing the holiday season, Family Fun Day marks the
annual beginning of our collecting donations to build up our supplies for
the distributions months ahead. The large quantity of food that was
brought to this event is amazing, as it shows that the Bartley Healthcare
and community spirit of helping those in need is "thankfully" widespread
throughout the community."
Commerce Bank joined Bartley in sponsoring the event. The Jackson Police
Department participated with its D.A.R.E. Patrol Car and Child
Identification program.
Since its inception in 1985, Bartley Healthcare has maintained a strong
commitment to community service and participation by it contributions to
community and charitable causes and by making available its facilities and
22-acre campus for community and professional events. This commitment is
part of Bartley’s mission to understand and meet the unique needs of their
senior residents by paying close attention to the details that enhance the
quality of their lives in an enriched environment. Trish Mazejy noted that
“this commitment to our residents and our community is what has come to be
known as the ‘Bartley Difference’”.
The Bartley Campus includes The Orchards At Bartley assisted living
