Bartley Healthcare Announces Toys For Tots Drive

(Jackson, NJ, November 20, 2007) – For the tenth consecutive year, Bartley Healthcare will participate in the Marine Corps Reserve’s TOYS FOR TOTS program, a nationwide drive headed by the Marine Corps Reserve. Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation will be a host drop-off point for the surrounding community, residents, family members and staff. The Orchards at Bartley Assisted Living Residence will also be a drop-off host.

The TOYS FOR TOTS drive will take place now through December 10th.

Members of the community are encouraged to bring new unwrapped gifts for boys and girls, ages infant through 15. Two festive collection boxes will be conveniently located in the main lobby of Bartley Healthcare and at the entrance to the Subacute unit. Drop off for The Orchards at Bartley will also be in the main lobby.

This is the 60th year that TOYS FOR TOTS will be providing holiday cheer to underprivileged children. Last year, various sites in Ocean, Monmouth, Somerset and Middlesex counties, including Bartley Healthcare, collected more than 200,000 toys.

Participation in TOYS FOR TOTS is only one example of the Bartley Healthcare Campus’ commitment to community service, a commitment it has held since its inception in 1985. The campus not only supports charitable causes, it also makes available its facilities and 22-acre campus for community and professional events.

This commitment is part of Bartley’s mission to understand and meet the unique needs of its senior residents by paying close attention to the details that enhance the quality of their lives in an enriched environment.

This commitment to their residents and the community has resulted in Bartley raising and contributing more than $ 125,000 for such charities as the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, Red Cross, hospitals, local charitable and civic organizations such as the Jackson Food Pantry, Jackson High School Scholarship Fund and youth sports.
