Enjoyed Bartley Healthcare's 6th Annual Family Fun Day
Rain caused Bartley Healthcare to move our
Family Fun Day from Saturday to Sunday this year, but it didn’t dampen the
fun or the size of the crowd. Sunday turned out to be a beautiful, eighty
degree day under a bright blue sky, and fun was had by all who attended
Children from the community were welcomed to enjoy rides, food and games,
pony rides, petting zoo and musical entertainment. Family Fun Day was
established six years ago as Bartley’s expression of gratitude to the
community for its role in the in the success that Bartley has enjoyed and
one of the ways Bartley gives back to those in the community.
Residents and families from both The Orchards at Bartley Assisted Living
and Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation mingled among the
guests. Residents enjoyed the beautiful weather and watching children
playing on the rides, coloring pumpkins, creating sand art and having a
great time.
“We couldn’t be happier about how this event has become so widely
anticipated by the local community,” said Trish Mazejy, Vice President of
Business Development and organizer of the event. “Despite the rescheduling
of the event because of rain, we estimate the event still drew over 1,000
guests.”
Once again, Bartley welcomed food and cash donations for the Jackson Food
Pantry. “We are so thankful than Bartley continues to support the Food
Pantry through this event,” said Vickie Vitale, Director of the food
pantry. “The amount of food collected exhibits Bartley’s ongoing support
if the community.”
Commerce Bank joined Bartley as major sponsor for the event. The Jackson
Police Department also participated with its D.A.R.E. Patrol Car and Child
Identification Program. The Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company No.1 and
the Jackson Boy Scout Troop 82 supported the event by selling a variety of
food concessions. Each group donated their proceeds to the charity of
their choice.
Since its inception in 1985, Bartley Healthcare has maintained a strong
commitment to community service and participation by it contributions to
community and charitable causes and by making available its facilities and
22-acre campus for community and professional events. This commitment is
part of Bartley’s mission to understand and meet the unique needs of their
senior residents by paying close attention to the details that enhance the
quality of their lives in an enriched environment. Trish Mazejy noted that
“this commitment to our residents and our community is what has come to be
known as the ‘Bartley Difference’”.
The Bartley Campus includes The Orchards At Bartley assisted living
residence that offers seniors an independent lifestyle and exceptional
services in an elegant, graceful setting and Bartley Healthcare Nursing
